CIPA-HD EPWG Forum: Next-generation technologies for next-generation heritage practitioners
This special session seeks to bring together emerging professionals and academics from within CIPA so that they can learn from one another, network, and engage in conversation. This event is being prepared by the Emerging Professionals Working Group (EPWG) which was established in response to a call for expansion to the emerging professional membership within ICOMOS. One of the main aims of the EPWG is to become a platform where emerging professionals in the culture, conservation, and heritage industries can network with each other, with leadership in their fields, and with other ICOMOS members and partner organizations. Since CIPA’s mission embodies keeping up with technology and ensuring its usefulness for cultural heritage conservation and sustainability, this session has been designed to showcase the work the next generation of CIPA members are undertaking, regarding state-of-the-art-technologies, and to provide a dedicated space for constructive feedback. The session will mainly focus on architectural documentation, surveying, computational visualistics, and structural analyses oriented towards conservation and protection. This initiative is vital as it will foster the direct dissemination of knowledge between a new generation of heritage recording practitioners, regarding practical and theoretical issues alike.
